Automated Reagent Dispensing for Microplate Assays

The Welljet is an automated reagent dispenser designed for rapid and reproducible dispensing of reagents into microplates. The Fisher Drug Discovery Resource Center has two WELLJET dispensers available for automated assay setup and high-volume plate preparation.

Applications in Drug Discovery

The WELLJET can be used to automate routine dispensing steps in a wide range of microplate-based assays, including:

• Rapid dispensing of assay reagents into 96- and 384-well plates
• Preparation of screening and assay plates
• Addition of buffers, substrates, cells, and other assay components
• Reproducible reagent addition across large numbers of plates
• Automation of repetitive dispensing steps in screening workflows

Advantages

Automated dispensing improves speed, consistency, and reproducibility while reducing the amount of repetitive manual pipetting required.

The two WELLJET dispensers provide the DDRC with additional capacity for preparing large numbers of assay plates and integrating automated reagent dispensing into broader screening workflows.
