GENERAL SAFETY RULES

Access and Authorization:
All users must be approved, certified by PIT staff, and sign in before using the PIT. Unauthorized individuals are not permitted to use the shop.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)

Eye Protection
Safety glasses with side shields or safety goggles are mandatory when conducting operations that pose a risk of eye injury, such as splashes, splatters, particles, or projectiles.

SAFETY OPERATIONS

Machine Safety and Maintenance:
Refer to the SOP for each machine and ensure it is in its default setup with all safety features working properly. Machines should be turned off when cleaning, repairing, or oiling.

COMMUNICATIONS

Tool Sign-In and Authorization:
Sign tools in and out with a PIT crew member, both orally and in writing. Tools should not be removed from the shop without proper authorization. Unauthorized removal of tools is considered theft.
