  • Are adult chaperones required?
Yes, all children must be accompanied by an adult, and we require at least one adult per five children.
  • How much does it cost to attend?
Science Saturday is free of charge! Registration is required for all attendees. If you are interested in bringing a group of students, please email sciencesaturday@rockefeller.edu.
  • Are there physical tickets?
No, you will receive a confirmation email upon completion of the registration form. Attendees’ names will be held at the door.
  • Does our whole group need to arrive at the same time?
Yes. Given the size of this STEM Festival, with activities occurring in several locations, we ask that your entire group arrives at the same time. In addition, there is limited cell phone reception in many buildings on campus, so it will be difficult to communicate after arrival.
  • What if one of my students has to arrive later than the rest of the group?
We cannot admit any students without an adult chaperone. Please be sure to coordinate with your students so that a chaperone is available to meet any latecomers at registration.
  • How do we get to Rockefeller University?
Rockefeller University is located in Manhattan at 1230 York Avenue at East 66th Street, New York, NY 10065. Click here for travel directions.
  • Will there be parking on campus?
Parking is not available on campus.
  • Should my students pack a lunch?
Food offerings, including vegetarian and gluten-free options, will be available free of charge.
  • What if it rains?
This event will take place rain or shine. Most of the activities will be indoors.
  • Is a permission slip required?
Yes, a chaperone will need to complete one waiver on behalf of the entire school group. The waiver will be completed as part of the online registration process.
  • Can my students bring their younger siblings?
We leave it to the teacher’s discretion to determine how to distribute the group’s tickets. However, younger siblings must be in grades K-8 during the 2024–25 academic year to attend.
  • Does Rockefeller offer any other events for students during the year?
In addition to Science Saturday (grades K–8), RockEDU offers Talking Science (grades 9–12). Information about additional programming for students and teachers can be found on the RockEDU Science Outreach website.
