ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Cuban baritone Eleomar Cuello has quickly established himself as a compelling presence on the operatic stage. He recently completed his tenure with the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera, where he refined his craft on one of the world’s foremost stages. Recent appearances at the Met include Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia and the Bullfighter in Ainadamar. Internationally, Mr. Cuello has appeared with the Teatro Municipal de Santiago, where his roles included Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, Valentin in Faust, and Masetto in Don Giovanni.

A native of Havana, Mr. Cuello began his career as a teenager with the National Lyric Theatre of Cuba. Now based in New York, he was a finalist in the 2023 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition and an alumnus of the Merola Opera Program, continuing to distinguish himself as a baritone of striking artistry and international promise.

Pianist Adam Nielsen enjoys a diverse career as a collaborative pianist, répétiteur, coach, and artistic administrator. Notable engagements include appearances at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, The Frick, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Guggenheim. Mr. Nielsen joined the music staff of the Metropolitan Opera in 2018, where he serves as répétiteur and assistant conductor. He is also Associate Artistic Director of the Marcus Institute of Vocal Arts at The Juilliard School and has served on the music staffs of leading opera companies across the United States, including Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and Washington National Opera. In 2023, he served as head coach for the Académie du Festival d’Aix en Provence. His playing can also be heard in film and television, including Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch and Amazon Prime’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. He holds degrees in piano performance from Utah State University, The Juilliard School, and Stony Brook University.
