Cuban baritone Eleomar Cuello has quickly established himself as a compelling presence on the operatic stage. He recently completed his tenure with the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera, where he refined his craft on one of the world’s foremost stages. Recent appearances at the Met include Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia and the Bullfighter in Ainadamar. Internationally, Mr. Cuello has appeared with the Teatro Municipal de Santiago, where his roles included Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, Valentin in Faust, and Masetto in Don Giovanni.
A native of Havana, Mr. Cuello began his career as a teenager with the National Lyric Theatre of Cuba. Now based in New York, he was a finalist in the 2023 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition and an alumnus of the Merola Opera Program, continuing to distinguish himself as a baritone of striking artistry and international promise.
