Subject: COVID-19 policy updates

Dear members of the Rockefeller community,

The number of COVID-19 cases on campus has declined to six in the last 14 days, three in the last week. The first phase of relaxation of the indoor mask mandate, announced last week, remains in effect. Face masks continue to be required in all common and shared indoor spaces.

Beginning on Monday, February 28, food will be allowed at indoor meetings, with social distancing strongly encouraged (the option for individuals to attend meetings virtually or via teleconference should be maintained). Great Performances is available for catering orders. The CRC Café is now open for breakfast from 8:00-10:30am and Bass Dining Commons is open for breakfast from 7:30-10:30am. Bass has extended its hours and is open for lunch from 11:30am-2:00pm, with the deli sandwich venue open until 3:00pm and beverages and grab-and-go items available until 4:00pm.

For those who have been working remotely, please note that Monday, February 28 is the date to return to previous (pre-Omicron) on-campus or approved hybrid work schedules, as announced earlier this month.

The RU Strong testing program continues, with weekly testing required and twice-weekly testing strongly encouraged. The OHS policies for isolation following a positive test and quarantine for close contacts have been modified. As before, anyone who tests positive for SARS-CoV-2 or has contact with a person who tested positive is asked to report this information via RU Healthy and be cleared by OHS prior to returning to campus. Following a positive test result, individuals may be cleared to return after 5 days with a negative test and an agreement to abide by instructions provided by OHS. Some contacts will be able to return to campus without a quarantine period with a negative test and an agreement to abide by instructions provided by OHS.

If you have any questions, please send an email to restart@rockefeller.edu.

Please take care of yourselves and each other,

Tim O’Connor

Executive Vice President, Rockefeller University
