Subject: COVID-19 policy updates

Dear members of the Rockefeller community,

In response to several questions submitted to restart@rockefeller.edu following recent communications about Rockefeller’s COVID policies and guidelines, we are writing with a few clarifications and reminders.

Recent revisions to COVID policies include:

  • As announced last week, face masking is optional for RU personnel except in patient care areas, the CFC facilities, and when attending events in Caspary and Carson Auditoriums.  Non-RU personnel must wear face masks in all indoor areas on campus.
  • Completion of the daily self-assessment checklist, RUHealthy, is now optional unless you are experiencing COVID-like symptoms or tested positive or had contact with someone who tested positive within the last ten days. RUHealthy must still be completed for CFC students.
  • The University requirements for isolation and quarantine following a positive test or known contact are assessed on a case-by-case basis by OHS. Contacts may still be asked to quarantine for at least five days and positives may have to isolate for up to ten days, but there are opportunities to “test-out” depending on individual symptoms and clinical assessment by OHS.
  • Food/beverages are allowed at in-person meetings and at receptions for lectures and events. Food/beverages are not allowed in Caspary or Carson Auditoriums (signage about policies for the auditorium venues has been installed).

The following policies remain in effect:

  • Weekly testing remains mandatory.  RUStrong continues to offer testing on both Tuesdays and Thursdays.  While we encourage you to take advantage of more frequent testing, you are required to test once per week. If you are getting weekly testing outside of RUStrong, please submit a written record to OHS@rockefeller.edu.
  • Access to campus is restricted to RU personnel and approved visitors only.  Requests for access for vendors, service personnel, and guests coming to campus for business purposes should be sent to restart@rockefeller.edu.  As a reminder, University policy prohibits minors in laboratories and certain other work areas unless the minor is part of an approved volunteer program.  CFC students and children that reside in Sophie Fricke and GSR are not allowed in other buildings on campus.

If you have any questions, please send an email to restart@rockefeller.edu.

Please continue to take care of yourselves and each other,

Tim
