Eight Rockefeller scientists designated most influential researchers

Eight current Rockefeller scientists studying immunology and microbiology have been designated Highly Cited Researchers by Clarivate, a British analytics company.

The 2022 list includes:

Paul Bieniasz
Marina Caskey
Luciano Marraffini
Jean-Laurent Casanova
James G. Krueger
Michel C. Nussenzweig
Jeffrey V. Ravetch
Charles M. Rice

Clarivate selects influential scientists for its prestigious list by first compiling the most highly cited scientific papers published over the past decade and then analyzing the research qualitatively. Their goal is to identify individuals “who demonstrate significant and broad influence among their peers in their chosen field or fields of research.”

CWTS Leiden and U-Multirank, two groups involved in ranking top research universities, are known to incorporate Clarivate data into their models. Rockefeller has traditionally topped both lists in citations-impact metrics. This year Leiden recognized Rockefeller for having the highest percentage of highly cited papers as proportion of its total output in the world, and U-Multirank placed Rockefeller first globally in its citation-based measure of impact for the eighth consecutive year.
