Budget and Research Administration

The Rockefeller University Office of Budget and Research Administration is responsible for the effective stewardship and management of the budgetary resources of the university in support of it’s mission of research and instruction.  The budget development and management process at the university is participatory in nature.  The office of budget and research administration works with campus academic and administrative units in guiding the annual budgetary process, assessing ongoing budget and planning issues, and establishing and monitoring controls over fund allocations.  The office is responsible for the following functions:

  • Creation of new accounts for administrative departments and resource centers
  • Annual budget set up and monthly maintenance
  • Budget set up and monitoring for capital projects
  • Monitoring and approval of personnel requests (both replacement and additions to staff) based upon the approved budget plan
  • Responding to information requests from the user departments
  • Providing budget planning guidance and other support as needed to user departments
  • Provide training for Grants Information System (GIS), Budget tool, and other ORACLE report generators – Contacts: Laboratories – Ext 8347 Administrative & Research Support Departments – Ext. 7736

The budget and research adminstration offices are located on the second floor of Founders Hall
