Constantina is a Senior Research Associate in the Jarvis Lab at Rockefeller University. She received her PhD in the Neurobiology of Language from the University of Barcelona and the Rockefeller University, studying the role of oxytocin in vocal learning in humans and songbirds, the evolutionary history of oxytocin and vasopressin/vasotocin ligands and receptors, and the genetic basis of domestication. She is currently working on further understanding the neural pathways and the evolution of vocal learning, while also being involved in the Vertebrate Genomes Project. In the latter, she is working on determining a universal vertebrate nomenclature for several gene families.
