- What to do with all that data? Researchers often collect hundreds or thousands of repeated measurements (e.g. blood pressure) on a single animal (e.g. a mouse), but perhaps only test for differences between average blood pressure at certain time points (e.g. pre vs post) or use summary scores across time intervals. Functional Data Analysis (FDA) is one way to capture and analyze all the data across time, allowing scientists to see patterns and changes that simple change scores cannot.
