The Rockefeller University Hospital is a unique facility where scientific breakthroughs in biology find their first clinical applications. At its founding in 1910, the Hospital was the first clinical research facility in the United States; today, it is the site of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science, supported by one of the first twelve National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA). Rockefeller's Hospital is dedicated exclusively to research, and is uniquely positioned to lead the way in applying the discoveries of modern biological science to medicine. As it approaches its centennial in 2010 the Rockefeller University Hospital continues to build on its rich tradition in scientific and medical leadership.
