The Rockefeller University seeks exceptional, interactive, and creative scientists to join its faculty. We invite applications from outstanding candidates for tenure-track positions and also encourage tenured Professors to apply, provided that they are early on in their careers.

The Rockefeller University provides strong financial support for the research work of its faculty. The positions offer highly competitive salary, benefits and start-up funds, new or recently renovated laboratory space, access to numerous state-of-the art core facilities and extensive opportunities for collaboration both within the University and with neighboring institutions. The University also provides very strong continuing support for research work beyond start-up, including full support for graduate students.

The University has a laboratory-based organization structure that fosters interdisciplinary research in the following areas:

  • Biology of Single Cells (including but not limited to Gene Expression, Cell Cycle and Cancer Biology, Chromosome Biology, Signal Transduction, and Enzymology)
     
  • Chemical Biology (including but not limited to Chemistry, broadly defined, applied to understanding biological processes; Structural Biology; and Biophysical Analysis of Single Molecules)
     
  • Evolution, Ecology, and Developmental Biology (including but not limited to Intercellular Signaling, Morphogenesis, Stem Cells, Cell Death Research, Cell Specification and Regulation of Gene Expression, Gene Environment Interactions, Ecology and Field Biology, and Evolution and Population Biology)
     
  • Medical Sciences and Human Genetics (including but not limited to Mechanisms of Disease, Novel Therapeutics, and Preventive Interventions)
     
  • Microbiology and Immunology (including but not limited to Cellular Immunology, Microbial Pathogenesis, Molecular Immunology, Parasitology, Tumor Immunology, Vaccine Development, and Virology)
     
  • Neurobiology and Behavior (including but not limited to Neurological Disorders, Vertebrate Systems Neurobiology, and Electrophysiology)
     
  • Physics and Biology (including but not limited to Bioinformatics, Networks, System Biology, Synthetic Systems, Experimental Physics, and Biophysics)
     
  • Physiology of Organisms (including but not limited to Vertebrate Physiology, Invertebrate Physiology, Plant Physiology, Metabolic Regulation, Aging, Models of Human Disease, and Pharmacology/Toxicology)
     

Applying for a Faculty Position

Applications are being accepted electronically through our Online Application System at http://oas.rockefeller.edu. Applicants should follow the online application procedure which includes submitting the following:

  • Curriculum Vitae with a publications list
  • Statement of Research with a two-page description of significant research accomplishments and a two-page description of future research plans (four pages maximum)
  • Relevant publications (optional, maximum of three)
  • Contact information for at least three references (not required for applicants who currently have a tenure-track or tenured faculty position)
