The Admissions Process

Thank you for your interest in joining the CFC community!

Applications for new students are accepted year-round by submitting the linked form to The Rockefeller University Human Resources Department.  All children must be at least three months old before their first day at the CFC.

  • The CFC maintains a waitlist and CFC openings are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, in order of application date receipt. 
  • Priority is given to children of full time Rockefeller University employees.
  • Siblings of currently enrolled CFC children are prioritized. 
  • If there is an opening at the CFC and there is no current Rockefeller University-affiliated family able to accept the opening, then non-Rockefeller University families may be offered a spot.  Each year the majority of CFC openings are filled by Rockefeller University families. 

The CFC runs on a September- August school year.  Children usually stay in their same classes for the full year as it is best for young children to have continuity of relationships with their peers and caregivers/teachers.

The majority of new children begin in September. However, openings are filled from September to June, as they come up. New children do not start at the CFC during July and August.

In May, we send out the acceptance letters for the new CFC school year. Families have two weeks after the offer to decide if they wish to accept the space. CFC families often move mid-year, therefore we maintain an active waitlist and many families are accepted off the waitlist year-round.

We host tours and open houses for Rockefeller University families in March. We look forward to getting to know you and your child!
