A 14-acre private oasis at the edge of Manhattan's bustling Upper East Side, Rockefeller University's campus is among the city's most spectacular and soothing landscapes, and has been described by The New York Times as "a musical composition of light, shadow and shades of green." Designed by noted landscape architect Daniel Kiley, the well-tended grounds are shaded by century-old London plane trees and bloom with azaleas each spring. In addition to breathtaking views of the East River and historic Queensboro Bridge, visitors to Rockefeller enjoy dramatic works of art — including pieces by Alexander Calder, Chuck Close and Frank Stella — from the university's permanent collection.

The university's 21 buildings house a community of world- renowned scientists who conduct research at the leading edge of biological and biomedical science and train the next generation of researchers. A total of 24 scientists associated with the university have been honored with the Nobel Prize — including five who have received the award since 1999.

The Rockefeller University rents its facilities to nonprofit organizations and institutions for events that serve an educational, scientific and/or public service purpose.

All organizations or institutions holding an event at the university will be expected to have in-effect insurance covering the event at a level approved by the university, to name the university as an additional insured, and to use an insurance carrier approved by the university. In addition, catering arrangements for all events must be made through the university’s exclusive caterer, Restaurant Associates.

All facility rentals are subject to approval by the university. The university prohibits use of its premises and shared facilities for events with a partisan political, religious or fundraising purpose. University shared facilities cannot be used for weddings, private parties, personal events or by religious organizations. In addition, the university's facilities are available during the weekend.
