The Rockefeller University Laboratory Safety Committee on Biohazards, Radioisotopes, Toxic Chemicals and Carcinogens (LSC)

The Rockefeller University Laboratory Safety Committee (LSC) is the university review committee for non-human use protocols involving radioactive, chemical and biological hazards. The LSC also performs review and approval of new principle investigators and of protocols from current principle investigators that represent a significant modification to or change in scope of previously approved research. For purposes of the university’s radioactive materials licenses and program, the LSC functions as the radiation safety committee and serves as the official regulatory body of the faculty and staff in all matters related to use of radioactive materials in basic research.
