Jeanne Farrell joined The Rockefeller University in 2018 as Associate Vice President for Technology Advancement and head of the Office of Technology Transfer. Dr. Farrell oversees the advancement of the University’s commercialization and business development efforts. Her efforts focus on building relationships with biomedical and biopharmaceutical partners, expanding interactions with the corporate sector, and attracting venture capital for investment in technologies, to further advance the science developed at Rockefeller.

Dr. Farrell came to Rockefeller from the Mount Sinai Health System, where she was most recently managing director of business development. In that role, she led a team responsible for strategizing and executing technology development and commercialization efforts related to the system’s intellectual property portfolio. Prior to that, she was a licensing manager and the patent agent at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she worked from 2007 to 2013.

An alumna of Fordham University, with both B.S. and M.S. degrees in the biological sciences, Dr. Farrell earned a Ph.D. in pharmacology from Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Her thesis research focused on the role of alternative splicing of the enzyme soluble adenylyl cyclase.
