Speaker bio(s)

Amy E. Shyer earned her bachelor’s degree in psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2005. In 2013, she received her Ph.D. in cell and developmental biology from Harvard University, where she worked with geneticist Cliff Tabin and engineer L. Mahadevan. Her postdoc, from 2013 to 2018, was in Richard Harland’s lab at the University of California, Berkeley. In the summer of 2018, Shyer joined The Rockefeller University as an assistant professor and head of the Laboratory of Morphogenesis. She has been awarded a Burroughs Wellcome Career Award at the Scientific Interface, a UC Berkeley MCB Outstanding Postdoctoral Fellow Award, and a Miller Research Fellowship.
