Subject: Extension of current COVID-19 guidance

Dear members of the Rockefeller community,

Thankfully, we are currently seeing a decline in positive cases among our community members from a peak just over a week ago. Although there are currently 91 positive cases in the two-week lookback window, only 29 of those were reported in the last seven days. To see the trend in the 14-day lookback metric, please download the PDF file below (and note that the same figure is updated in real-time on the university’s COVID-19 website).

While this trend, which mirrors New York City data, is encouraging, there are still many more positive cases at Rockefeller than we experienced at any time through last year (by a wide margin). As such,  continued vigilance is important for the well-being of our colleagues and loved ones and for the safe operation of the University. Please note that the policies and guidelines that were communicated on January 12 are being extended through at least February 4. For planning purposes, another update will be provided no later than January 31.

We are very hopeful that the current trends continue and that we are able to begin safely relaxing some of the current policies and guidelines in the coming weeks.

Please take care of yourselves and each other,

Tim
