Subject: COVID-19 update

Dear members of the Rockefeller community,

In the email to the community last week, we announced the relaxation of several COVID-related restrictions and plans for others. This week the Faculty and Student Club re-opened and indoor dining resumed in the Bass dining commons, both very welcome events driven by the >90% reduction in cases from the peak of the Omicron wave, with only 18 new cases on campus in the previous 14 days. In-person meetings and lectures, with masks, have resumed. Unfortunately, the rapid descent of cases on campus has stalled, today revealing 17 new cases in the last 14 days (9 in the last week), essentially unchanged from last week. This level remains higher than the number seen at the peak of the Delta wave last summer. Because we have persistently high levels of a highly infectious virus, we will not be relaxing the indoor mask mandate on Monday, February 14. For planning purposes, the next update will be provided on February 18.

As a reminder, there are no restrictions on Rockefeller personnel coming to campus, the number coming each day has continued to increase over the past several weeks and employees are expected to return to their approved on-campus schedules by February 28.

If you have any questions about the current policies, please send an email to restart@rockefeller.edu

Please take care of yourselves and each other,

Tim O’Connor

Executive Vice President, Rockefeller University
