Procurement
The Rockefeller University Materials Management Department is fully committed to promoting sustainable procurement practices that align with the University’s sustainability goals.
Materials Management strives to source products and services that are environmentally friendly and energy-efficient, while also providing high-quality goods to support the University’s scientific research. The department supports various recycling practices, including toner recycling and recycling of receiving and shipping materials. Additionally, the department continuously negotiates pricing to obtain commodities that meet the University’s standards for energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. The University Stockroom is an important part of this initiative, offering a wide range of commonly used items that are purchased in bulk to limit shipping and packaging requirements as well as a wide range of items made from recycled materials. Through these efforts, Materials Management is taking a proactive approach to promote sustainability and reduce its environmental footprint.
