To create the Laboratory of Bacterial Pathogenesis and Immunology Internet Site has required the contributions of many individuals, including, Dr. Anthony Popowicz, of the Rockefeller University Computing Services, who has managed the searchable index of the Lancefield Strain Collection; Maria Fazio, who prepared the electron micrographs of streptococci; Dorothy Cheng of Stuyvesant High School, who transcribed Dr. Lancefield's strain indices into electronic form; and, most importantly, the late Dr. Rebecca Lancefield, for laying the foundation of modern research of the Streptococcus.
