Tri-Institutional and External Collaborations

The Rockefeller University is home to numerous independent clinical and research initiatives. The Rockefeller University Hospital, a stand-alone inpatient and outpatient facility that serves as one of the nation’s premiere centers for clinical investigation, is the setting for human studies conducted by nearly half of the university’s labs. Some initiatives, including the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center and the Center for the Study of Hepatitis C, are collaborative efforts exclusively devoted to addressing specific public health issues. Others, such as the Center for Field Research in Ethology and Ecology, provide researchers with access to specialized environments. The Howard Hughes Medical Institute occupies laboratories at the university and supports 16 Rockefeller faculty members.
