THE Rockefeller University is pleased to announce its 1997-98 Peggy M.
Rockefeller Concerts, a subscription series of outstanding musical performances
by internationally acclaimed artists. The concerts will be held at 8:00 P.M. in
the university's Caspary Auditorium, 66th Street and York Avenue.
FOUNDED in 1958 by Professor Theodore Shedlovsky, the series provides a unique
opportunity to hear world-renowned artists at a low cost, made possible by
special arrangement with the performers, gifts in support of the series, and
the sponsorship of the university. Your voluntary tax-deductible contribution,
in addition to the subscription price, is essential to ensure the continuation
of this exceptional concert series.
THE Rockefeller University was founded in 1901 by John D. Rockefeller as the
nation's first biomedical research center. A world leader in science and
education, it has been at the forefront of many of the major scientific
discoveries of the 20th century. Nineteen Nobel laureates have been associated
with the university, four of whom are currently on campus.
