St. Petersburg String Quartet

FORMED in 1985 by graduates of the Leningrad Conservatory, this quartet quickly
won a number of major international competitions and became known throughout
the world for their insightful, mesmerizing performances. Their interpretations
of Shostakovich's works, in particular, are astonishingly expressive.
