The Rockefeller community can watch Paul Greengard (right) receive the Nobel Prize via a live Webcast.

Rockefeller University Professor Paul Greengard will receive the Nobel Prize for physiology or medicine on Sun., Dec. 10. For those interested in watching the ceremony live, the Nobel Web site (www.nobel.se) will broadcast the ceremony at 4:00 p.m. Central European Time (10 a.m. Eastern Time).

The award ceremony, which takes place in Stockholm’s Concert Hall, will feature speeches extolling the laureates and their work; afterwards, the king of Sweden will present each laureate with a diploma and a medal. An English speaker in the Webcast will translate the speeches to English in "real time."

The Nobel Prize lectures, given by the laureates, will be available on the Nobel Web site a few days later.

A campus celebration for Greengard is planned for Mon., Jan. 9.
