Ho is named
Irene Diamond Professor,
Mombaerts is promoted to associate professor

David Ho, scientific director
of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center, has been named Irene
Diamond Professor at Rockefeller. Ho, a professor at the university
since 1996, developed the AIDS "cocktail therapy" at The Rockefeller
University Hospital. These multidrug treatment strategies have,
in recent studies, reduced the HIV virus to undetectable levels
in certain patients. |

Peter Mombaerts, head of
the Laboratory of Developmental Biology and Neurogenetics, has
been promoted from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor.
Mombaerts received his M.D., summa cum laude from Catholic
University of Leuven in Leuven, Belgium, and his Ph.D. in biology
from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He joined The
Rockefeller University in 1995 as assistant professor and head
of the Laboratory of Developmental Biology and Neurogenetics. |
