Juliette Kang

Born in Edmonton, Canada, Ms. Kang began her violin studies at age four. At nine she began studying with Dr. Jascha Brodsky at the Curtis Institute of Music, from which she earned her Bachelor's Degree. In 1993 she earned her Master's Degree from The Juilliard School, where her teachers included Dorothy Delay, Hyo Kang, and Robert Mann. She came to international attention as winner of first prize in the Yehudi Menuhin and Indianapolis Competitions and is also a Young Concert Artists winner. Engagements to date include the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, Orchestre National Bordeaux-Acquitaine, Orquesta Sinfonica del Estado de Mexico, Orchestra of St. Luke's, Philadelphia and National Arts Centre Orchestras and many others. Ms Kang has performed in Carnegie Hall, Frick Collection, 92nd Street Y, Paris' Théâtre Châtelet, Tokyo's Suntory Hall, Boston's Gardner Museum, and Washington's Kennedy Center.

Melvin Chen

A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Mr. Chen is currently a doctoral candidate in chemistry at Harvard University, where he also serves as a resident tutor in Currier House. He received a double master's degree from The Juilliard School in piano and violin, where he studied with Seymour Lipkin and Glenn Dicterow. Previously, he attended Yale University where he won piano and violin competitions while earning his B.S. in Chemistry and physics. He has collaborated with such artists as Ida Kavafian, Steven Tenenbom, Robert White, and members of the St. Lawrence, Mendelssohn, Borromeo, and Arditti quartets. Mr. Chen has made recital and chamber music appearances in Carnegie Hall, Weill Recital Hall, the Frick Collection, Boston's Jordan Hall, as well as other venues in the United States, Canada, and Asia. This summer he will appear at the Chamber Music Northwest and Music from Angelfire chamber music festivals.
