2008 Summer at a Glance:

Orientation Tea & first Monday Afternoon Seminar
Monday, June 30 - Welch Hall in Markus Library
Orientation is from 2:30pm - 3:30pm & Topics in Biomedicine (TIB) Seminar is from 3:30pm - 5:00pm
For new & returning students, teachers, mentors, and lab heads followed immediately by
Dr. Rod MacKinnon giving the first Monday Seminar.

ScienTific Reading And Writing Course (STRAW) sessions 1 - 6
Tuesdays/repeated on Wednesdays
July 1 & 2, 8 & 9, 15 & 16, 22 & 23, 29 & 30, and August 5 & 6
9am - 11am: Rockefeller Research Building (RRB) 110
For new students, teachers, and interested scientists.
Because a new model paper is being introduced, returning students should attend STRAW 1 & must attend STRAW 4.

Tuesday/Wednesday (repeat): July 22 & 23
9am - 11am: RRB 110
Sean Brady, Ph.D. discusses model chemistry paper
For new & RETURNING students, teachers, and interested scientists.

TOPICS IN BIOMEDICINE (TIB)
Monday Afternoon Seminar Series
Life as Chemistry & Biological Organization
Mondays: June 30 (following Orientation), July 7, 14, 21, 28, and August 4
3:30pm to 5pm: Weiss 301
For new & returning students, teachers, and interested scientists.
This informal series introduces participants to the breadth and depth of research at Rockefeller. Light refreshments.

Teacher Breakfast Seminars
Thursdays: July 10, 17, 24, 31 & August 7
9am to 11am: Caspary 1B
For new & returning teachers, their school colleagues, and interested scientists.

Poster Session
Thursday, August 14
9am to Noon: 17th Floor Weiss
For new & returning students and teachers to present their research to the Rockefeller community, families, and friends. Light refreshments.

End of Summer
Friday, August 29
While the Outreach Program formally ends with the Poster Session, all research reports are due by this day. Return borrowed books and Security ID unless staying on into the school year.
