Sponsored Research and Program Development

The Rockefeller University's Office of Sponsored Research and Program Development (SR-PD) facilitates and streamlines the grant/contract seeking process in compliance with university, government and sponsor policies and regulations.

Driven by the University mission, SR-PD responds and anticipates research needs and shifting funding trends. We offer services and resources to enable the University's pioneering research, working together with investigators and university offices to promote collaborative and single investigator projects as well as pursue training and equipment opportunities.

SR-PD assists investigators in navigating research and training applications and the grant management process, before and after an award is made. We process proposals to federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as to private foundations. When needed, we also support submission efforts in coordination with the Development Office, Technology Transfer, the Graduate School, and the Office of General Counsel. We work with investigators and the University's IRB, IACUC, and Laboratory Safety & Environmental Health committees to ensure that pre- and post-award activities involving human subjects, animal subjects, biohazards and radioactive materials meet federal and state regulatory requirements. We interface with Financial Services in the oversight of post-award management and reporting. Through constantly evolving communication solutions, we keep the faculty and administration abreast of emerging opportunities, and act as a liaison to sponsor agencies in negotiating agreements and resolving funding issues as needed.
