The borrowing of library materials is limited to:
- Faculty and non-faculty of Rockefeller University with proper I.D.
- Staff and students of Weill Medical College of Cornell University and
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center with proper I.D.
* You must be registered in the patron database of your institution
library.*
Borrowing of Library Materials
- All books (except reference books and reserve books) circulate.
- Books circulate for 4 weeks for RU patrons; 2 weeks for Cornell/MSKCC
patrons.
- Borrowed books may be renewed up to 2x for 2 weeks per renewal.
- New books with a waiting list circulate for 2 weeks for RU patrons; 1 week
for Cornell/MSKCC patrons.
- Books that have been circulating for two weeks must be returned when
requested by another reader.
- Journals do not circulate.
* You must have your I.D. card with you when you are borrowing a
book.*
Patrons may borrow books at the Circulation Desk when the staff is on duty, 9:00
a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, or may use the Self-Check Out System located
near the Circulation Desk at all times.
Returning of Library Materials
- Books may be returned to the Circulation Desk, Floor 2 of Welch Hall.
- Or you may return books to any one of the four book deposits located on
campus.
Any book(s) not returned to the library when requested will be considered lost
and a replacement invoice will be sent to you.

- Bronk Building Lobby
- Founders Hall Lobby
- Smith Hall, Level A (next to the elevators)
- Weiss Research Building Lobby
Missing Books or Journals
- The library needs to be kept informed of any books or journals that should
be on the shelf but which are not and may be deemed missing.
- If you cannot locate a book or journal please inform the library's Circulation Librarian, or call
ext: 8905
for books, ext: 8916 for journals.
The On-line Catalog /Recall Requests
If the Rockefeller University Library book you have found in Tri-Cat is in circulation, you may request the book to be recalled for you by choosing "Request Item" from the menu (telnet version only). You
will be prompted to enter your name and your university I.D. number (obtainable
from the Circulation Office or Security for RU patrons) or your barcode number
from your I.D. card (for Cornell/MSKCC patrons). Your request will be sent to
the circulation staff and the book will be recalled for you. You will be
notified when the book has been processed for pick up.

Viewing Your Own Circulation Record
You may view your own circulation record by choosing "Library Information and
Other Options" from the main menu of the catalog, then choosing "View Your
Circulation Record." Type in your name and your university I.D. number
(obtainable from the Circulation Office or Security for RU patrons) or your
barcode number from your I.D. card (for Cornell/MSKCC patrons). You may then
view the items that you have charged out, renew items (as long as they are not
overdue), display fines, and view any items on hold.
