Laboratory Safety & Environmental Health's role at The Rockefeller University is the development and management of the University's environmental health and
safety programs. LS&EH works with the University's researchers, other departments on campus, and a host of outside regulatory and advisory agencies to ensure
that the University is a safe and compliant place to work.
In addition to providing support and services to the University, LS&EH conducts research in the health and safety fields. Aimed at minimizing waste, environmental
impacts, and laboratory hazards, the staff's research spans the radioactive, biological and chemical aspects of laboratory safety and has resulted in the publication of
two books and numerous journal articles.
