Clinical Lab

Genetic diagnostic tests for Fanconi anemia are performed in the Section of Cytogenetics, the Rockefeller University Hospital, Laboratory Director, Arleen D. Auerbach, Ph.D. The laboratory has CLIA approval for the tests offered and is a New York State Department of Health Certified Laboratory for the clinical diagnosis of Fanconi Anemia. The laboratory offers the following tests:

  1. DNA-based testing for Fanconi anemia.

NY State Civil Rights Law Article 7, Section 79-1 applies to all genetic diagnostic tests performed on NY State residents by laboratories located in any state, as well as all specimens studied in a laboratory located in NY State. The law requires that the health professional ordering a diagnostic test for Fanconi anemia inform the patient about the genetic nature of the test, and that the test information could have consequences for his or her family which could best be explained by genetic counseling. When sending a clinical specimen, the law requires that you use our January, 2002 laboratory requisition form for DNA testing. The form can be downloaded from this website.
