OHS provides health counseling and immunizations for international travel. Appointments for this service should be scheduled with OHS staff well in advance of departure.
OHS is also responsible for the medical processes required for Workers' Compensation and Short Term Disability. The sick leave policy requires employees to call OHS on each day of absence.
OHS particpates in the University’s emergency and incident response procedures, Disaster Plan and the Public Access Defibrilllation program.
OHS offers employees a variety of services without charge; however, it is not intended, nor is it possible, that it substitute for a personal physician or a hospital clinic or emergency room. The nursing staff will offer basic medical advice or care when such treatment is necessary before the employee can obtain private medical attention. If you have an accident or become ill while at work, you must report to or notify OHS immediately.
