The Detlev Bronk Fund for Student Life
Welcome Alumni Photo

In 1953, the Trustees of Rockefeller voted to incorporate The Rockefeller Institute as a graduate university. Under the pioneering leadership of its first president, Detlev Bronk, the new university expanded its mission to include not only a world class medical research institute, but also a thriving scientific graduate education program. The Detlev Bronk Fund for Student Life was launched in 2001, in tribute to Deltev Bronk and as the alumni gift to the University, to celebrate The Rockefeller University's centennial. Designed to strengthen ties between alumni and each new generation of students, the Detlev Bronk Fund has a twofold purpose:

  • To endow the Detlev Bronk Annual Lecture to be delivered by a distinguished Rockefeller alumnus or alumna selected by graduate students, and
  • To create a financial resource for students with an emergency need.
