The Rockefeller University invites applications for newly-created tenure-track faculty positions in the biological and biomedical sciences. These positions require individuals with innovative and significant scientific accomplishments and a dedication to excellence. The successful candidates will join an outstanding group of scientific faculty committed to fostering a new generation of exceptional scientists and will receive generous support from the University community.

Our faculty members reflect a wide range of research areas spanning many scientific fields. The University is particularly interested in individuals with broad interests who would flourish in our non-departmental, interdisciplinary structure. The University will also accept applications from outstanding individuals in other relevant areas of science and will consider more senior-level appointments in the case of highly exceptional research scientists.

The University consists of seventy-five independent laboratories that are headed by faculty members at the ranks of Assistant Professor, Head of Laboratory; Associate Professor, Head of Laboratory; and Professor, Head of Laboratory. Assistant and Associate Professor, Head of Laboratory appointments are tenure-track; Full Professors are tenured.

Applying for a Faculty Position

Applicants should submit a one to two-page cover letter that describes their most significant research achievements and future research plans and outlines why they feel their research is particularly well-suited to The Rockefeller University. In addition, applicants must submit the following:

  • Curriculum Vitae (with a publications list)
  • Statement of current and future research interests (no longer than three pages)
  • Relevant reprints (on CD-ROM, electronic submission of pdf files or URLs)
  • A minimum of three letters of reference sent directly to the University at the time of application
