Requirements for Candidates

Applicants must have a research or health professional doctoral degree or its equivalent. Degrees from other fields will be considered on a case by case basis.

Applicants from underrepresented racial/ethnic minority (African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Alaska Natives, and Pacific Islanders) and disadvantaged backgrounds and individuals with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Applicants to the Clinical Scholars Program must meet the following criteria to be eligible for consideration for appointment in a Rockefeller University Laboratory.

  • Valid New York State medical license.
  • Credentials suitable for appointment to The Rockefeller University Hospital.
  • Commitment to performing both clinical and laboratory-based studies with The Rockefeller University Hospital patients to examine important biomedical questions under investigation in their host laboratory.
  • Training in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

The application process is not complete until the committee receives a letter from your proposed mentor recommending your appointment and indicating both the human subjects project you will work on and your mentor's and your plan for your career development.

Your application is considered complete when we have received the completed application form, the required application materials, two letters of reference, and the mentor's letter. The Search Committee will not review incomplete applications.
