Announcements
- The Olympus multiphoton system has now been upgraded to a dual IR-laser system, permitting simultaneous photoactivation or photobleaching using one excitation wavelength and imaging using a different IR excitation wavelength. Contact Shiva for more information regarding the multiphoton capabilities of the BIRC.
- The Nikon TIRF/FLIM microscope system is now up and running. The system also has the Perfect Focus module, allowing long-term timelapse imaging of living cells without focal drift. The Lambert Instruments FLIM system can be used in both widefield mode and TIRF mode. A Micropoint laser on the system can be used for photobleaching, photoactivation and ablation. Contact Alison with any questions about this recent arrival.
- The Olympus LCV110U "Viva View" incubator fluorescence microscope that was on long-term loan has now been purchased by the BIRC. This system allows multi-day, multidimensional time-lapse imaging of up to 8 dishes of cells inside a 37°C, CO2 incubator. The new model also allows control of oxygen levels for hypoxia studies. Contact Alison to use this system - "Fluffles" - for your experiments.
